Developments

The chemical and traditional industries still have a major presence in the Port of Vlissingen. However gradually the role of the port is shifting to logistics. The container business, in particular, will benefit from the growing range of facilities provided by Zeeland Seaports, with other major developments to come in the near future.

Where possible, Zeeland Seaports aims to encourage co-operation and synergy between neighbouring companies. The port authority Seaports likes to allocate space to clusters of similarly specialised companies and to create the most suitable infrastructure for that cluster in terms of supply and distribution of energy, raw materials and final products.

A good example of this clustering can be found in Valuepark Terneuzen and the Biopark Terneuzen. – and other areas are being developed. For more information about projects go to 'Port Today'.
