Together, the ports of Vlissingen-Oost (East Flushing) and Terneuzen form Zeeland Seaports. Based on handling capacity, they represent the third biggest port in the Netherlands after Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
Around 250 businesses are based in the port area, with most falling under high-end industry or port-related business. Taken together, they are the engine of the Zeeland economy.
As the port authority, Zeeland Seaports is responsible for economic development and the management, maintenance and operation of the ports of Zeeland.
